Terms of Service
Last updated: April 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the NorData service (the “Service”) provided by Disrupting IT AS, organisation number registered in Norway, Engene 16, 3015 Drammen (“NorData”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or calling the API you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
NorData provides programmatic access to data sourced from public Norwegian registries (companies, addresses, voluntary organisations, and similar). The Service is delivered as an HTTP API and a self-service portal for managing API tokens, usage, and billing.
2. Accounts and API tokens
- You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your API tokens secret. Any request authenticated with your token is your responsibility and will be billed to your account.
- Notify us immediately at info@disruptingit.no if you suspect a token has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful purposes, including violations of GDPR, the Norwegian Personal Data Act, or marketing laws;
- resell, redistribute, or republish bulk data in a way that substitutes for a direct subscription;
- attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, security measures, or authentication;
- use the data to harass, profile, or unlawfully discriminate against individuals;
- use the Service in safety-critical, life-critical, legal, medical, or financial decision-making systems where errors could cause harm.
We may suspend or terminate access if these rules are violated.
4. Pricing and billing
- Each API includes a separate free monthly request allowance, listed on the APIs page. Additional usage is billed per request at the prices listed on the website at the time of the request.
- Usage is metered by NorData and billed in arrears via Stripe. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Prices are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes, which will be added where required.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice for changes that affect existing accounts. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
- Accounts with a payment method can set optional monthly, weekly, or daily request limits for each API on the APIs page. Free accounts are limited to each API's free monthly allowance. You can enable or disable each available API independently.
5. Data accuracy — important
The data provided by the Service is collected from public Norwegian registries and other third-party sources. We do not warrant that the data is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. In particular:
- Source registries may contain errors, omissions, delays, or outdated information.
- Records can change at any time without notice.
- Aggregated, derived, or enriched fields are best-effort and may differ from the official source.
You are solely responsible for verifying any data against the authoritative source before relying on it for decisions, and for ensuring your downstream use complies with applicable law.
6. AI-generated content
Parts of the Service, the documentation, the marketing site, code samples, prompts, search relevance, summaries, and support responses may be produced or assisted by large language models or other AI systems. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, biased, or misleading even when it looks confident. You must independently verify any AI-assisted output before relying on it. We are not liable for losses arising from your reliance on AI-generated content.
7. Service availability
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis without a specific uptime guarantee unless explicitly agreed in a separate written contract. We may perform maintenance, change features, or temporarily suspend the Service to protect its integrity.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service and all data are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorData and Disrupting IT AS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service or the data it returns, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
In any case, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you actually paid to us for the Service during that period, or NOK 1,000 — whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Norwegian law (such as for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or personal injury).
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify NorData and Disrupting IT AS from any third-party claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or applicable law, or (b) your processing or onward sharing of data obtained through the API.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, software, documentation, branding, and any derivative datasets we create remain the property of Disrupting IT AS or its licensors. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service and the data you retrieve in accordance with these Terms. Underlying public-registry data remains subject to the terms of its original source.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or to others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will continue to apply.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Drammen, Norway, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
